Connecting with families to find private tutoring work just got a whole lot easier. Juggle Street have over 50,000 parents who have been using our platform to book babysitters and nannies in their local neighbourhood since 2014. Now, as their kids get older, these parents are looking to help develop their child’s confidence at school. Some parents are even looking for tutoring help to prepare their kids for kindergarten. We’re delighted to see our village grow as our Juggle Street families mature and we’re excited to help support them with our home tutoring service

Here’s our guide for both new and experienced private tutors on how to get started on our platform and how to get home tutoring jobs through Juggle Street.

1. Choosing the Right Tutoring Subjects

This is a no brainer – but we want to start at the beginning. Teach what you know and love. Before you get set up, be selective on what subjects you’d like to teach. Make sure you’re passionate and care about the subjects you list on your profile to be sure you’re happy and confident to teach the jobs you’re invited to. This will make your job more fun at the end of the day!

2. Set up a Great Tutoring Profile

Your Juggle Street profile should be like your CV. Highlight your qualifications, strengths and put relevant information in your profile description. If you have any existing references, this is a great place to include them until you start getting ratings and reviews through the platform. You may even like to upload a profile video so parents can get to know your interests, passions and experience a little better. Select the relevant experience you have – if you’re just starting out, don’t be shy to select “newbie”, as this can change when you become more experienced. Make sure you select the relevant year levels you’re interested in teaching, so when parents are posting jobs, they can easily find the right person for them. Remember to keep your profile up to date!

3. Connect With Parents Near You

Getting started with Juggle Street is easy and you can find out how it works for tutors on our website Once you’ve signed up and your account has been approved, you’ll want to start connecting with parents. You want to find a job close to you, so you’ll be happy to know the Juggle Street platform is set up exactly for this. Juggle Street is a neighbourhood network, so our algorithm will naturally show people in surrounding suburbs who you can connect with. Parents will also be able to view your profile and add you to their list of favourites, so when they go to post a job you will come up first.

4. Finding Home Tutoring Jobs on Juggle Street

When a job has been created by a parent, all invited tutors will receive a message with a link to the job details, including the job starting time, estimated duration and how much the parent is offering to pay. After reviewing the job details, tutors (you) choose to apply for the job or reject it. Parents will receive job applications on their mobile phone and choose who to award the job to. When the job is complete parents pay tutors directly - we don’t take a cut of the hourly rate, this means it’s more affordable for parents and you get paid more per hour to do what you love.

5. Stay Professional, Be Responsive and Always Be Punctual

When you’re invited to a job, respond in a professional manner – even if you can’t make it, please let the parents know so they can look for other tutors who might be able to help them. Find out as much as you can about the tutoring job in advance and be prepared before you go. A fast response does count, and we reward tutors who are good responders. Make sure you allow enough time to get to their house, so you arrive on time and ready to start.

6. Get Rated and Reviewed by Parents

Parents love ratings and reviews, everyone does. Ratings and reviews are your gold nuggets, will help boost your profile and result in more jobs and more money! Make sure you book the job through the Juggle Street platform so you can get a parent reference and review attached to your profile. The more jobs and reviews you have, the better your profile looks and the more chance of getting more work in the future.

7. Stay Connected and Supported

It’s always great to feel supported by staying connected with other tutors. Happy tutors = happy parents and at Juggle Street we like to see everyone happy.
