Hello to all families looking for a nanny :)) I was born in France, partly brought up in England, Steiner educated, and came to NZ in 1994 when my daughter was two. I have worked with children, here and in Australia, since 1997 My method is fun, gentle, encouraging, positive, and creative as well as socially encouraged. The parents and I discuss the child's routine, local friends/playmates, and go from there. A typical day would integrate healthy nourishment prepared with the child if old enough, appropriate clothes, social outings to either playgrounds, library or beaches. Then home for lunch, and nap if part of the routine. Fun picnic prep before another outing, depending on the weather, then home for dinner, bath, followed by some down-time reading, drawing or playing, until the first parent gets home. I have just joined the Papamoa & Tauranga Community page and very much look forward to my next interaction . Kind regards, Catherine
I worked 2 years in Mana College's Special Needs Unit, 1998-2000 and left to attend a WGT art school.
A 6mths stint in a Centre for families in difficulty in Porirua somewhere was both a humbling experience as well as a reality check. For the Special needs' unit position at Mana College, (2000 - 2002) I provided the diverse kids/adults sports and some Arts & Crafts. The job ended when I booked myself into the Learning Connexion art school in Wellington (2002 - 2003) Proper nannying work started in 2004, when my daughter and i moved to Rotorua where i was hired for the top job of looking after four gorgeous sisters aged 1,3,5, and 7 :)) Sadly, the job ended when the little one, then 5, started school in 2008. Then i cooked ·lunch for the two dozen cuties attending the Rotorua Steiner kinder, 2009, and for a few months before leaving for Sydney. There, i worked in Randwick's Steiner kinder (2010), assisting teachers with the c40 more cuties attending. After Traffic controlling for a year, and Sdney not being what it used to be, I made my way to Melbourne where i looked after 2yrs old twins Louie and Dala (2012 - 2013). The job ended as their grandparents moved down from QLD to be with them. Then it was Matteo's turn to have me a a nanny, (2013) he was a sweet 2 year old Brazilian, we parted after 8 months, as mum and dad decided on a compatriote instead. So I moved to the beach in Mordialloc and after a while found work looking after three little kiwis aged 2, 4, and 9 (2013 - 2017) It was then time to come home. So late 2017 to late 2024, I came back and turned my Kapiti home into a good Airbnb, while living in the studio at the back. It worked really well, until my daughter and her family moved from Horowhenua for Tauranga. The distance between us being a bit of a shame, i sold the Kapiti house and also moved to Papamoa.. Absolutely no regrets =)) * All references available on request.
