šŸŒŸ Experienced Nanny Available in Orewa and Surrounding Areas (HBC to North Shore)! šŸŒŸ Hello parents! My name is Alley, and I am a 27-year-old experienced nanny based in Orewa. I am available to travel to the North Shore and have had several nanny jobs in these areas, as well as around the Hibiscus Coast. With over 5 years of nannying experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the role. I have completed my First Aid Level 1 & 2 certifications approximately five times (though it is currently expired). At your request, I am more than happy to renew my certification. I have a keen interest and a bit of a nerd when it comes to first aid and have even considered pursuing a career as a paramedic or nurse. My background in surf life saving highlights my dedication to safety and first aid. Core Qualities: 1. Childcare for ages 3 months to 14 years 2. Meal preparation 3. Activity planning and scheduling 4. Behaviour management techniques and setting clear boundaries, working along with the parents to do so. 5. Lots of household chores - I canā€™t help myself but clean, I think I may be one of the few who enjoy cleaning. Also caring for any household pets, I would love to do a bit of dog walking with the children 6. First Aid Level 1 and 2 7. Good decision-making, especially under pressure 8. Help with homework - NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 (Merit and Excellence endorsements) 9. Getting to afterschool activities in a timely matter 10. I would describe myself as nurturing, engaging, very attentive, kind and very patient. 11. I do not fluster easily and will always remain consistent in a gentle and friendly disposition 12. I find it very important when working with young children to keep the imagination and creativity alive. This could be done with a bunch of activities such as arts and crafts (I have a lot of my own I can bring) interactive story telling, cloud watching, building forts, make-believe acting or playing with toys. (This will obviously differ depending on the age of the child/children. 13. As a nanny/caretaker, I have learnt that it is important to recognise the developmental necessity for social and emotional care and skill building. As children need to feel safe, validated and accepted, prioritised trusted in order to thrive in any environment. 14. I am highly organised and I know that evey child is likely to have different unique higeine, sleep, and meal routines and multiple commitments related to school, activities, tutoring sessions, play dates and other appointments (that I can drop off and take to of course) 15. I keep an accurate planner/daily schedule, calendar in an app on my phone to make sure every single activity or appointments are accounted for and never forgotten or overlooked. To ensure all responsibilities are met and children arrive to school, picked up on time and other commitments on time. 16. I am easily adaptable, when plans change I am never flustered, I am able to think quickly with a solution and adapt accordingly. My main priority will always be the children/child. 17. Food - I can cook, dinner, lunch, breakfast, snacks, school baking and will always check if there are any allergies or preferences to food. 18. Yes children do tend to have tantrums or are a bit flustered, accidents can happen unfortunately they can be unavoidable. This is why I will always stay calm under pressure because if this wasnā€™t a practice I go by it is obvious this will definitely heighten the anxiety and stress of the child/children. Which of course we do not want. Hereā€™s a bit more about me: ā€¢ Fitness & Health: I am fit, healthy, and love staying active. This is crucial while looking after children I have learnt in the past. ā€¢ Driving: I hold a full driverā€™s license with over 8 years of driving experience. My car has a 5-star safety rating, and I have a clear police vet available for serious inquiries, which I can forward the results via email. I am happy to pick up and drive your children to after-school activities. ā€¢ Versatile Interests: I consider myself both a girly girl and a bit of a tomboy, so I get along well with both boys and girls. ā€¢ Approach to Nannying: My approach to nannying is to encourage children to follow their dreams, get them outside doing fun activities, or get arty and crafty rather than relying on screens. Growing up without the internet, I loved entertaining myself and my sister, and I aim to create similar experiences for the children I care for. ā€¢ Household Skills: I can cook meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), love to clean, and ensure the environment is tidy. I frequently take care of vacuuming, doing dishes, laundry, changing sheets, and wiping surfaces. I believe that having a clear and clean space helps everyone in the family thrive. ā€¢ Pet-Friendly: I have two dogs and absolutely adore all animals, so if you have pets, thatā€™s a bonus! ā€¢ Availability: I am available for daytime help with young children, nighttime help (including weekends), and before and after-school care. Iā€™m very flexible and able to accommodate a variety of needs. If parents are working and traveling, Iā€™m able to help with extended stays to ensure your child/children are happy, as that is the main goal, right? ā€¢ Tutoring & Homework: I am also available for tutoring in Maths, English, and Science. I achieved Excellence and Merit endorsements in NCEA levels 1, 2, and 3. ā€¢ Vaccination: I am flu and COVID vaccinated and maintain high hygiene standards, especially important when working with children who have weak immune systems. ā€¢ References: I have approximately six nanny references that I can pass on to anyone interested. ā€¢ Inclusivity: I am LGBT+ friendly, understanding the importance of this for some parents and families. ā€¢ Compatibility: I would love to hear your parenting style so I can reflect this in my care for your children. I get along well with both parents and children, and while difficulties may arise, Iā€™m always ready to find a solution. I believe your children would thrive with my approach as a nanny. I genuinely love caring for kids and always prioritise their needs. Iā€™m ready to start ASAP and would love to meet you and your children whenever suits you all. I understand that getting to know a new caregiver can be challenging, but Iā€™ve seen these connections develop into lasting friendships in my past experiences. If thereā€™s anything I havenā€™t covered, Iā€™m happy to discuss it during our meeting. Thank you for reading this very long message! I look forward to hearing from you.
