Whether you are a first, second, third or even sixth time parent, the arrival of a new baby is nothing short of life changing. The newborn stage can be a whirlwind of a time! Your baby really is adjusting to the world for the first few months of their life and their sleep and feeds may be all over the place. You’re also adjusting to this new life with your lovely wee newborn, and with adjustment comes change, you may not be able to care for yourself or your partner the way you would like to. You also may be struggling with keeping up with all the laundry, dishes and household chores. A newborn nanny can help you with this big transition into parenthood and caring for your baby. How I like to support a family in my role as a Newborn Nanny: Heat meals, prepare you easy-to-eat snacks and cups of tea for you etc Wash dishes and keep the kitchen space tidy Put on loads of baby washing, dry, fold & put away Care for baby Keep your living areas tidy Provide emotional support Provide my knowledge and expertise regarding baby’s care Allow you privacy and time alone with your baby and family Being welcomed into a family’s home who have just had a baby is such a privilege and one that I will always honor and cherish and not take for granted., It is important for me that I am not only there to care for your newborn but I am also there to care for you and your family. The fourth trimester is a huge transition, especially for first-time parents. Parents can often feel unsupported and as though they should be able to do it all on their own. My goal is to support and care for you so you can be the parents you want to be to your baby, take some time for yourself and enjoy these precious moments with your new baby and family. About Me: I work full-time as a private newborn nanny. I love what I do! This is my passion and it brings me so much joy to provide high-quality care to little ones and their families. Before Nannying I worked as an ECE teacher in an under 2’s room for just over three years. I’ve always had a preference to work one-on-one with little ones in this age group. This led me to leave the ECE space and become a nanny with the vision of creating safe and peaceful environments for little ones to freely explore and learn – and I have done just this and I love it! I have cared for newborns from as young as just a few days old – I feel confident working with such a young age group because of my expertise and experience. It has always been my opinion that it is essential to have extensive knowledge of the age group I am caring for. There is an incredible amount of care that goes into looking after a young baby and their family. Therefore I am always reading and talking with experts in the field to expand my knowledge.I am currently near completing my certification to become an infant and child sleep consultant, I believe this has given me incredible sleep tools to help parents with their newborn’s and infant’s sleep. Before teaching I studied the first year of a Bachelor of Nursing and I also hold a comprehensive level 2 first aid certificate as well as a child first-aid certificate. The health and safety of newborns, infants and children under my care have always been a top priority of mine. So you can always feel confident your little one is in safe hands. My Approach: I will always do what works best for families by aligning my nannying style to your needs and values. I am an excellent communicator, approachable, flexible, and punctual. I enjoy getting to know families, building trust and knowing that I am supporting their needs. I work with the vision of creating a calm environment for newborns and infants to feel safe, secure, able to express their emotions and needs and know they will always be heard and comforted. To give them calmness and quiet to relax and rest in, but to also provide them with a loving and enriching environment to spend their awake times in. When I am caring for newborns and infants I am calm, caring and patient. I will always follow your family's normal routine as closely as I can. It is important that wee ones feel as comfortable and relaxed as they can be when I am caring for them so that they feel safe and content to sleep, feed and enjoy their wake windows. Please feel free to send me a message, I am more than happy to meet with you and your family in person and talk about exactly what you're looking for. You can ask me anything you need to know regarding my approach and how I work. I can even meet your little one and we can get to know each other a bit. I can provide excellent references. My Rates: Nannying: $35.00 per hour Casual Care (Babysitting) - $35.00 per hour (with a Booking minimum of 4 hours) Current Availability: I’m currently looking to work with a family 1-3 days a week - as I complete my studies to become an infant and child sleep consultant. I have experience when it comes to working with little ones with disabilities. I have worked with a 15-month-old with a Hearing disability and had implants. I am confident in using baby sign language with young children to help with communication barriers.
