Tutoring Jobs

Hi mums and Dad's I am a mum of a five year old boy and we living in the East Auckland area. I'm looking to change jobs to a more family friendly and flexible role. I have my bachelor of education and dipolma of teaching although I haven't taught in the classroom formally for approximately 15 years. I am currently helping out at our sons school on my days off. I work three days a week as an office administrator but my boss now needs me to pick up more hours which will impact too much on our family. Ideally because Liam is our only living only child, I am looking for nannying or after school care roles which will accommodate collecting him after school from nanna once I have collected your kids from their school. We want Liam to have more interactions with other children as he doesn't have siblings of his own. I am reliable, mature, nurturing, professional, caring and of a warm bubbly nature. My friends are always telling me I am amazing with kids and should be back working with children. I'm looking forward to helping you out as we also enhance Liam's world through interacting after school with other children younger and older than him. Let's chat and see if we can help each other. I am also available for babysitting although finding a nannying position three days a week would be ideal. I could adjust our routine to help a family that may need five day a week after school care, if necessary. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon. Regards Chrissy

    Special Needs Experience

During my time at Teachers College and University, I studied child psychology and took special needs in education. I also taught in London with children who had emotional and behavioural special needs. An amazing experience and very rewarding. Very sad too as these poor children had been kicked out of 3-4 schools and this was their last option. I taught there as a maternity leave cover for 8 months, securing a permanent position.

    Childcare Experience

I have extensive child care experience as I am the youngest of four siblings and being the teacher in the family, I always ended up being the babysitter for my 9 neices/nephews. Before starting our own family, My sister moved to Greece leaving her daughter in the care of my elderly parents. Lydia was 14 at the time and Mark and I decided to move to Napier to help guide and support Lydia through her schooling and give Mum some reprieve as dad had just passed away from cancer. We lived there for 18months before falling pregnant with our daughter and moving back to Auckland. I have extensive experience caring for younger children ( I had a very large and supportive of each other anti natal/coffee group. Five uof us still regularly meet today and they all have had their second children now ranging from 2years to 4. I love all age groups from infants to toddlers, up to teenagers.

    Tutoring Experience

Whilst living in Spain in 2002 I tutored jinior school children in English as a second language at a basic language school. During practicums at teachers college we had many exchange students come from Japan and Korea for us to plan, teach and converse with students to enhance thieir verbal communication skills in English. I majored in English and art at teachers college. I am currently enrolled and studying TSOL to attain my internationally recognised tutoring qualification.
