Hey everyone, My name is Michelle and I am a qualified Early Childhood teacher. I have been in the education sector since the young age of 16, where I began my journey and completed my certificate in Early Childhood Education. I loved working with children so much that I decided to move on further and complete my Bachelor. I have since had three children of my own and currently work part time relieving and have a permanent day of work at a centre. I am studying full time and in my last year of completing my Masters in Developmental and Educational Psychology which I am enjoying. My end goal is to become an Educational Psychologist. I have already obtained a Post grad in general Psychology which has shaped my understanding of human development and the ways in which we live our lives. Special Needs Experience
I have worked as a support worker for children with autism in their homes as well as taking them out into the community. I have also experienced children with additional needs while working as a teacher and understand how to implement strategies that may support children with their communication and understanding.
Childcare Experience
I have been looking after children for the past 17 years and love fostering their uniqueness and curiosity. One thing that I love about nannying is the quality one on one time that is available that may otherwise not be in other contexts such as school and daycare. I have experience with all age groups, from babies right up to teens. Some of these children have had additional needs while others have not. I am very child led, meaning that I let children lead their experiences and offer the resources to enhance their learning. I find that children learn and have more fun when they get to be part of the decision making and explore topics or play games of their interest. In saying this, I am happy to follow the wishes of the family if there are areas in which they wish to be further nurtured and developed.
Tutoring Experience
I have never tutored as a professional before but have experience with my own children in their academic learning. I am in my last year of my Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology and understand how to best apply teaching and learning strategies to enhance learning.
